TODAY'S MOMENT

Only July 7, 2009 the whole world took a moment to reflect
on the life of Michael Jackson
My daughter and I watched his memorial service together
We were moved, we smiled and we cried
We remembered the times
We were touched by his life, his music, his energy,
his sadness, his too soon death
We chose to remember the good today

Take a moment today to reflect on and remember

1. The people who love you
2. The people you love
3. And remember that "the only thing that counts is
faith as it is expressed through love." (The Apostle Paul Gal 5:6)

Today, in your quiet moment, be confident in God's love
for you and His promise for an eternal future!

This poem below is one that I wrote in 1993 after watching a
television interview of Michael Jackson. I was touched by that
interview and caught a glimpse of his heart for the world
and for making a difference in it.

TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE

I want to make a difference

To be loved, to count for good

To touch the children of the world

Help them feel they're understood

 
I want to make a difference

Use the creations of my heart

Pursuing kindness, peace and love

Through my medium of art

 
I want to make a difference

So when all is said and done

Compassion will have triumphed

Many evils overcome

 
I want to make a difference

As I imitate my Lord

Pass my pleasures and my passions

To each corner of the world

 
I want to make a difference 

Be God's instrument to play

Used to harmonize the world

His music to convey

 
I will make a difference

Through my music and my heart

Giving back more than I've ever known

Is the gift I will impart.
